Just a little something that i did...

Survival Stealth Gear.....stolen military outfit with a green cloak...

Character Inspirations

While admitted to a human hospital before his daring escape
Injured and damaged, poor ickle alien

Smart Uniform - With human influences

Generic Military Uniform

Just a few facial sketches...more will appear but these will be his main. Rage - Sadness - Smugness - and underwater. Not that it counts as a facial expression.

THIS IS MY FINAL FORM!!!

This is the final, final design. Yay! :)
Looking back at my previous designs, I thought the clawed feet looked far too hostile. This character is supposed to be peaceful and frogs don't have claws. I've given him more bulbous feet and fingers as they can be used to help stick/climb things. I began to think the webs on his elbows looked odd as well, they don't do anything but they look cool and more alien-ee so I kept them.

THIS ISN'T EVEN MY FINAL FORM!

This image shows the colour I decided to go with and what he will look like in my final design. I removed a finger from each hand to make him seem more alien, and because I think it looks cooler. The final colour here is also going to reflect on my environment. I understand that many frogs are very bright coloured as a defence mechanism however I wanted this character to be able to blend in with his environment to create a more stealth orientated game.

Almost there...

Final Concepts: Building the Character - Shath/Terance

In these designs i'm finally beginning to understand how my character will look in my final designs. These sketches helped me understand how the muscles will fit together and his body would move. Here I also thought that the ridge on his head and back could also join into his tail, an Idea I've now scrapped as it would restrict how he moves.

Concept - Size Comparisons

As Humans and my alien eventually meet in my history of the character, I thought it would be useful to get a grasp on how big these aliens are. Even though they're much taller, they aren't much stronger than humans. For their size their strength is about equal. Here we also see initial concepts for a human companion, and my aliens survival uniform.

More Character Concepts

In my initial concept, my characters head looked the right size, however being on a hostile planet, I thought he needed a way to look bigger for predators. Adding the flared ridges down the side of his head and back make him look much bigger.
This body concept looks far to bulky so one thing I focused on later was making him looks slimmer, but not so slim that he begins to look even more unrealistic.

Character Concept 1

This is my first concept without colour. I wanted to use the traditional, slim/skinny sort of alien template as they can look either creepy, or with the right features quite friendly. Being an amphibian I wanted to incorporate some frog like features, the odd legs, large eyes and webbed arms, legs hands and feet etc. The tail I thought looked a little silly, however in my later concepts I've added it back into my designs.

Colour Concept 1

This is my first concept for my character, I knew I wanted him to be humanoid but slightly amphibian so I looked at colour schemes from different frogs and toads and tried them out to see which worked best.

First Time using Photoshop...rushed it towards the end so not happy :/

Uni - Homework Numbeeeeer 1! Imagine a fantasy games concept that uses chess as the inspiration for two opposing forces, two kingdoms or two armies. I give you, the evil Queen! It's not perfect in anyway but it's a start.
